Empowering Rural Women

Northern Slopes Landcare Association have received funding from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal with their successful Tackling Tough Times Together, $16975 grant application for The Rural Women’s Catch-Up.

“This could not be possible without funding, and I would like to Thank the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal in supporting the delivery of the project. Women play a huge role in the community and empowering women is essential to sustainable economies in isolated communities” Penny Kelly said.

A series of workshops will be delivered over the next 12 months in the small, drought affected communities of Boomi, North Star, Coolatai and Upper Horton. The project will assist women to form reliable and strong connections within their local communities to ensure that they are resilient and supported in the face of future natural disasters.
