There will be a Vietnam War display at 111 Queen Street Barraba from today till the 15th of September to coincide with the battle of Long Tan (18th August). On Saturday 17th of August at 3pm at The Playhouse Theatre, there will be two Vietnam War documentaries. The first being ‘How Vietnam was Lost’ an American 75 minute documentary with interviews from the Commander of Delta Company and other battle hardened veterans of Delta and what few remaining vets of Alpha. Speaking openly on the monumental blunders and decisions made by colonels and other top brass, resulting in major loss of American lives, in spite of warnings by company commanders that their battle plans were wrong.
The second documentary ‘Entertaining Vietnam’ is a 52 minute sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes scary but always entertaining look at the mainly Australian performers, bands, singers, GOGO dancers and comedians who entertained the troops. As well interviews with them and news correspondents and nurses. Some couldn’t finish a tour, others stayed for years, some were killed there. TICKETS $10 EACH.
