Browndog Boxing competes in Gunnedah

G’day Barraba,

Last Saturday night 25/02/2023 Browndog Boxing Barraba went over and competed at a pro/amateur boxing fightnight at the Gunnedah Town Hall. It was a very loaded and passionate crowd and the night was a great success. Henry Watkins and Dylan McArdle both proud Barraba locals made their debut having an amateur exhibition fight (no winner or loser) against 2 tough and more experienced opponents but both boys went extremely well and I am extremely happy and proud of them both for their efforts. Henry and Dylan and also Mackenzie Austin have upcoming competition fights at Cobar and Newcastle where I am sure they will do themselves and Barraba proud. We also have some big sparing days lined up against some of the best boxers in Australia at Barraba, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Newcastle and Muswellbrook to help develop the team and get them some more ring experience.

 My name is Adam Brownlie and I am the trainer at Browndog Boxing Barraba. I have 20 year experience in the sport having competed in many competition amateur fights, golden gloves and Australian titles as well as winning state title belts. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with anyone keen to learn the sport and have a go. Boxing is a great all round fitness and mental well-being sport for all ages and genders.
