Mandy also organises occasional Art Classes or Workshops for those wishing to learn or improve their drawing and painting skills.  These classes will be advertised prior to each event. We have a “Drawing in Black & White Workshop” with Hugh McKid on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th June, further details to follow on our Facebook page and in the “Barraba Community News”.

WANT MORE DETAIL ABOUT OUR TUESDAY AND THURSDAY GROUPS?

If you enjoy craft, knitting, crocheting, fancy work or any crafty pastime and would like some company whilst you create; maybe our Tuesday group would suit you.  Just bring whatever you are working on, have a chat, share advice and enjoy a cuppa with this friendly group.

Our Thursday Patchwork Sewing group has so much potential but has suffered dwindling numbers, it is time to rebuild.  Just bring a patchwork project and your sewing machine.  This could be your patchwork support network, somewhere to share ideas and help solve those patchwork pattern problems that cost you hours and lots of unpicking!  What a wonderful way to celebrate your finished masterpiece.

There’s always someone to chat too, ask for some help, just enjoy the social contact, start a new hobby or develop a new craft skill, have a BYO project or complete the UFO that’s been sitting in the cupboard for way too long.

OK, SO MAYBE YOU ARE AN ARTIST, OR WANNA-BE ARTIST, WHO DESIRES THE STIMULATION OF PAINTING IN A GROUP?

We are calling for expressions of interest from anyone who would like to join an Art/Painting Group.  This group would welcome all levels of experience, any gender.  Just bring a piece you are working on or wish to begin.  Benefit from the expertise and painting knowledge of others in the group.

Working within a group of like-minded people could be the stimulation you need to get that piece of art finished.  Whilst this is not a “learn to paint” class, it is hoped that it will help to provide inspiration and enjoyment within a group environment.

There is a wonderful new area at the back of the Gallery that would be perfect for this group, easels can be supplied.  Just bring your lunch and whatever you wish to work on.

Artists from surrounding areas (Manilla, Bingara etc) are most welcome to join us.

If you are interested; contact Annie Clough 0412 287475.

PERHAPS PHOTOGRAPHY IS YOUR THING?

The Barraba Shutter Bugs are heading to Manilla for a group photo shoot on Sunday 3 April at 9am.  We will be photographing the old Railway Viaduct and Manilla Weir.  There will be a morning tea break at Warm Discussions coffee shop.

We are a very casual, friendly group with all levels of photography experience – the more the merrier.  If you are interested in joining us, contact Lynne Martin 0457 752142.

Make sure you follow the Barraba Potters and Craft Guild Facebook page to see what is happening at The Claypan and Fuller Gallery.  The Gallery is open most days to visitors; there are lots of wonderful locally made items for sale.
