Pet Show a Great Success and Great Fun

It was a perfect day for the children’s annual Pet Show, and every one of the 87 entries and their handlers seemed to have a great time. Perhaps not ‘Softly’ the Silky Hen, stuck in her cage! I guess it was the safest place with all the over active dogs straining at their leads. Softly’s consolation was that she and her owner, Crispian Eddington, were names Runner-up Champion of the Show. Grand Champion of the Show was ‘Bill’, lead by Amelia Kilmore.

That’s the MC of the Pet Show, Bill Croll, in the background.  Once again, he did a wonderful job on the microphone, keeping the show running and keeping the crowd, and the pets, entertained.

Thanks to Chief Steward Terry Threlfall, Steward Meredyth Bell, and our judge, Peta from the Barraba Veterinary Clinic, for all your hard work.

Particular thanks to our sponsors, and those providing the prizes: Meg Crowley, H W Atkinson Memorial, IGA Barraba, Barraba RSL and Recreation Club, Barraba RSL Anglers Club, Stock and Crop, and Hart Rural.

And a special thanks to all the children and their parents who came along and made it a fun day. See you next year.
