Value NSW is searching for the next generation of property professionals with applications now open for eight Graduate Valuer positions across NSW.

With demand for skilled property professionals continuing to grow, the highly regarded Value NSW Graduate Program offers motivated graduates a unique opportunity to launch their careers in property valuation while making a meaningful contribution to communities across the state.

Eight roles are available across metropolitan and regional NSW including Parramatta, Newcastle, Wollongong, Queanbeyan, Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Orange, Taree and Murwillumbah.

Value NSW is part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) and provides property valuation services to the Valuer General of NSW and the NSW Government.

Each year the agency undertakes about 2.7 million land valuations across NSW with a combined value of more than $3 trillion. These valuations support the independent determination of council rates and land tax assessments, underpinning more than $15 billion in annual state revenue.

In addition, the agency is responsible for the delivery of all valuations for government property transactions as defined by the Government Property Framework and Treasurer’s Directions as well as sector wide asset valuations of up to around $700 billion for financial reporting purposes

The 24-month graduate program combines fieldwork, professional development and practical experience across multiple valuation disciplines to help participants develop the skills needed to become qualified valuers and future leaders in the profession.

Now in its fifth year, the program has attracted strong interest from graduates across Australia and helped launch the careers of aspiring valuers. So far 29 graduates have undertaken the program with 18 securing ongoing roles with Value NSW and 10 continuing to complete their program.

Graduate valuers gain hands-on experience across areas including land valuations, objections, compulsory acquisitions and specialist valuation services, while working alongside some of the most experienced property professionals in the country.

Value NSW Chief Executive Officer Stewart McLachlan said:

“Our graduate valuers work on some of the state's most important property and infrastructure projects, from determining land values that support local communities to helping deliver major government initiatives.

“We're recruiting eight new graduates this year and are looking for motivated people who enjoy problem-solving, working with data, getting out into the field, enjoy a laugh and being part of a high performing team.

“No two days are the same. Graduates might be inspecting residential properties one day, analysing market evidence the next, and contributing to significant infrastructure and land acquisition projects the day after.

“The Graduate Program plays an important role in building the future capability of the valuation profession and strengthening the expertise that supports the State's land valuation system.
