Another successful Daffodil Day
Daffodil Day 2026
What a beautiful warm day Daffodil Day turned out to be last Thursday. The bunches of yellow Daffodils brightened the morning even more, and seemed to add to the sunny disposition of the folk that gathered in Barraba’s Queen Street Mall for Barraba Cancer Patients Fund Raising Group Inc. (BCPFRG) annual Street Stall. Again, the trading table was full to the brim with tasty homemade, home baked and homegrown items, and it seemed that no sooner were the goods set up on the tables, that they were sold to the very generous public who supported the event once more.
Old time tunes from the local band ‘Old Spice’ were relished by all who sat in the Mall having their morning teas, and those too, who passed-on by in the street. Thank you to the members of the band for their time entertaining the crowd.
This year we were very happy to also welcome some of the residents of Richardson House to listen to the music and enjoy their morning cuppas with plates of sandwiches and cakes/biscuits/slices at the tables and chairs in the Mall. It was great to see you all there.
Sincere thanks to the community of Barraba for their consistent support in our fundraising efforts. To the Business Houses throughout the township who purchased morning tea plates and daffodils, thank you too, and we also extend our thanks to the kind donors: John and Toni Waugh for the Guessing Competition 1st prize of a delicious fruit and vegetable tray, Ken Faulkner for 2nd prize, his wooden sculpture and Marnie Crowley of Cobbadah Flowers who sourced the Daffodils for us, along with a community members who donated some.
The Guessing Competition was won by Howard Carter, while 2nd prize went to Pam King.
Winners of the 100 Club were: 1st Barney Peake.
2nd Frankie Crowley, who very generously donated her prize back. Thank you very much Frankie!

BCPFRG will donate funds raised from the day to the NSW Cancer Council, along with other Australian cancer related and research organizations. We would like to again thank you all for your support. Until next time……
