Annual Fiesta returning to the capital of country

The regions premier multicultural event, Fiesta La Peel will return to Bicentennial Park, Tamworth on Saturday, 17 October.

Entering its thirteenth year, the festival continues to attract growing numbers, bringing together communities from a wide range of cultural backgrounds to celebrate diversity, share traditions, and foster greater understanding across the region. The event celebrates the many cultures, traditions and communities represented throughout the Tamworth region, highlighting the diversity that strengthens and enriches our community.

Multicultural Tamworth Inc. Chairperson Juanita Doody encourages both local and visitors from across New South Wales to attend. “As an inclusive celebration, Fiesta La Peel continues to bring people together through food, music and culture, creating opportunities to connect and learn from one another,” Ms Doody said.  “The festival is a wonderful showcase of the many cultures that make up our community and highlights the diversity that enriches the Tamworth region. We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the festivities and experience the vibrant cultural traditions on display.”

From 4pm to 9pm, Bicentennial Park will come alive as a vibrant multicultural hub, showcasing a diverse program of live music, cultural dance performances and artistic demonstrations. A range of food vendors and market stalls featuring arts, crafts and cultural experiences from around the world will also form part of the festival.

Tamworth Regional Council Events Officer Crystal Vero said she is excited to welcome expressions of interest from performers and stallholders wanting to be involved in this year’s event. “We’re thrilled to be hosting Fiesta La Peel once again in partnership with Multicultural Tamworth Inc., whose ongoing support and dedication play a vital role in celebrating and promoting multiculturalism across our region,” she said.  “We encourage food vendors, community groups, artisans and entertainers to apply for the opportunity to be part of this vibrant community celebration.”
