Barraba Potters and Craft Guild News
Breaking news!!! The Barraba Potters and Craft Guild are looking to expand the Tree Bombing along the main street over the June Long Weekend.
Our Warm and Woolly Exhibition has been a success previously, but we are looking to build on that for 2027 and we would like to invite local businesses and other organisations to ‘Adopt a Tree’ to bomb. You can decorate the tree as you wish, for the long weekend providing a show piece for the community and a promotional focus, to encourage visitors to Barraba. Having adopted a tree you might like to decorate it to represent your business, your charity, your club or your special interest – it’s your decision, you can be as creative as you like. We request you and your organisation give this some consideration and if you are interested, please contact Patti or Bronwyn to discuss. Our contact details are below.
The Barraba Potters and Craft Guild are holding a “Come and Try Day" on the 26th of September 2026 to encourage people to try pottery, sashiko, machine embroidery and felting. More information and to book in please phone 0459608486
Guild members would like to invite interested people to attend the Fuller Gallery on a Friday morning from 10am to join a spinning group. Help will be provided to beginners; limited spinning wheels are available or bring your own wheel and wool/fibre to spin. If spinning isn't your thing maybe you could bring your knitting, crochet or craft item to do, while you enjoy a chat and a cuppa....Contact Andrea for more info on 0438323113.
The Bonsai group met on the 16th August to review their bonsai plants, some looking a bit sad after the big frosts that we have had. The next get together will be on the 1st November at 10.30am.
We are sad to be saying farewell to Mike Simpson and Marty Unwin who have been Guild Members and have hung their works of art in the Gallery for many years. We wish you both, along with Vickie and Gilly a very happy next chapter in your lives. Don’t forget to pop in for a visit when you are in Barraba.
