Claypan catering at the Show

13th March 2024

Claypan Happenings at the Barraba Show.

Barraba Potters and Craft Guild members joined forces with a bit of outside help this year to successfully cater on Saturday and Sunday at the Barraba Show.

Some last minute, unexpected, misfortunes saw catering organiser, Bronwyn Clinch short of canteen helpers.  The call went out and partners of members (Michael Clinch and Vicki Simpson), and several non-members came forward to offer their help – the benefits of a small town and community minded people.

Bronwyn, on behalf of the Guild, would like to offer a big thank you to all of those wonderful people who donated food and put their hand up to help in the canteen over the weekend.  A special thanks to Vicki Simpson for her help in the canteen.  Many sandwiches, salads and sweet treat plates were prepared to feed hungry show goers.

Bacon and egg brekkie rolls, prepared by Michael Clinch and Mandy Cabot on both days, were a big hit.  Thanks to Michael and Mandy for fronting up at 6:30am to cook and serve breakfast.

The extreme heat on Show weekend saw a huge demand for bottled water.

Despite the original concerns about enough help and food, the weekend was a huge success for the Guild.
