Joey's News - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

JOEY'S NEWS

The big events at Joey's last week were the performances of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by the students of Year 5/6. The class has been working on the performance for some time starting with auditions last term. Nicholas Fletcher played Willy Wonka with style and panache. Every child excelled in their role. Miss Shani Marshall directed and produced the show, dedicating many hours of work to preparing the children as well as making props and organising costumes. Miss Eleisha Outridge's background in dance and makeup was much appreciated. Mrs Justine Harris, Mrs Bec Russell, Ms Jane Harris and Ms Sam Rhodes also made significant contributions to the successful production.

Restrictions sadly meant the show could not be performed at The Playhouse Hotel as intended. Parents also could not watch at school. The performances were instead done in the Parish Hall to other classes, including the pre-Kinder Transition children. Video recordings were made which will be shared with parents and families.
