Potters and Craft Guild 'Fireside Yarns' exhibition

11th May 2022

“FIRESIDE YARNS” – A WINTER EXHIBITION – JUNE LONG WEEKEND

As the mercury drops, morning frosts cover the ground, fires roar and social outings dwindle we start to look for an excuse to beat the “winter blues”.  With the absence of a Frost Over Barraba arts festival this year, the Barraba Potters and Craft Guild are hosting a winter exhibition themed “Fireside Yarns”.  This exhibition will showcase local arts, crafts, pottery, photography (and the list goes on) all in one amazing venue – The Fuller Gallery, Barraba.

There will be an Exhibition Opening at 6pm on Friday 10th June at the Gallery.  Finger food and wine will be supplied, with an entry fee of $15 per person.  Everyone is welcome, bring your friends and enjoy a couple of hours browsing the Gallery.  The open fire will be crackling to create the “Fireside Yarns” atmosphere.  For catering purposes, it would be great if you could let us know if you will be attending but if it is a last minute decision you are welcome to just turn up.  RSVP to Bronwyn on 0447 165 008.

Following the opening night the Gallery will be open daily over the June long weekend - 11th to 13th June.  Morning teas will be available from 10am.  Soup and roll lunches will be served from 12md.  If you have visitors coming over the long weekend; the Exhibition would be a wonderful way to entertain your guests and appreciate the talent of some of our local people.

As part of the Winter Exhibition Hugh McKid’s Black and White Drawing Workshop will be held Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June.  The workshop is an introduction to drawing for beginners and has one vacant place. Cost $120. Contact Bronwyn, if you are interested.  Phone 0447 165008 for a list of ‘what to bring’.
