What's on at the Men's Shed?

Barraba Men's Shed Up-date Feb 2022

For the new arrivals in town as well as the established residents, we at the Barraba Men's Shed wish to advise what the members have accomplished in the last few years. One of the main jobs has been the repair and refurbishment of furniture items that fall within our capabilities; we have also repaired petrol push mowers, and orders have been received to make outdoor items such as seats.

The members have also from time to time been involved with assisting at local town and charity events.

We have been financially helped by the local RSL, who have donated recyclable bottles and cans, and we greatly appreciate and thank the RSL for their generosity. If you wish to assist the Shed financially you can leave recyclable bottles and cans at the Men's Shed Shop between the hours of 9.00am and 12 noon on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, or at the Workshop between 8.00am and 12 noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Workshop is situated in Clifton Lane behind the Court House and the Shop is situated on Queen Street next to the Pharmacy. The shop sells items made by the members, goods on commission and gifted goods. Commission items and lay-bye items are accepted on a limited time scale.

The Shed is always pleased to receive new members both social and workers. If you can only spend a few hours with us on any day during the opening times you are most welcome.

Before Covid reduced/stopped our activities we had children from Barraba Central School attend the Shed to make a School Project; this will no doubt be completed once the restrictions are lifted for them.

At the moment our current project is the production of outdoor furniture for Saint Joseph's School.

The Shed members wish to thank the Barraba Community for their previous, current and hopefully future support.
