Community College - what's on the program?

1st February 2022

COLLEGE CHAT

Hi, I am Tanya and I am the Community College Coordinator for Barraba

Classes get underway for Term 1 starting in February.

Don’t forget all you seniors who would love to improve your technology skills our Tech Savvy Seniors classes are starting again on Thursday 10th February with a morning and afternoon session.  Please contact me at the College to enrol in this course under the guidance of Tina Simpson.

Women’s Woodworking Workshop has a new start date of Wednesday 16th February.  I would like to introduce our trainer Harry Mason who will guide our ladies through 6 weeks of learning to use hand and power tools so that they can then use these skills to do their own DIY projects at home.

Harry has been a building contractor for 38 years and runs his own business which is BGK Construction in Inverell and has been teaching for 5 years so brings a wealth of knowledge to share with our ladies.  Harry lived in the USA in his early years before coming back to Australia where he resumed working again in the building industry.  He now lives in Inverell with his wife Rhonda and is involved with Pathfinders in his passion for helping youth of Inverell.  In his spare time Harry loves to restore vehicles and motorcycles.

We are very lucky to have Harry join our teaching staff at Community College and look forward to having him teach Barraba ladies all aspects of DIY.

Please if you have any questions regarding upcoming workshops please do not hesitate to contact me as I would be happy to answer any questions.

Thought for the day:  Try something new to get you out of your comfort zone.
