ATTENTION WOOL PRODUCERS!!

Do you have fleeces to enter in the 2022 Barraba Show?  Be in the running for some of the fantastic prizes on offer.  You can find the full wool schedule at www.barrabashow.com.au

Fleeces can be left at the Show office during the Show week or at the Wool pavilion by 2:30pm on Thursday 3^rd March 2022.

We are excited to welcome back a local wool expert, Maurice McNeill, to judge the entries this year.  Maurice will be available to talk to growers about their fleeces and the wool market after judging (approximately 11am) on Friday morning.

Thanks also to Ian Perry, who is retiring from the Chief Steward role of the Wool Section, after many years of service.  Ian has handed the role of Chief Steward to Ian McColl.

With the wool industry moving to shorter shearing intervals, Ian is considering adding extra classes in the 2023 show to encourage entries from those producers who shear on a 6 – 8 monthly basis.  As a majority of local producers will fall into this category, Ian thought it would be a good opportunity to revive the wool section and expand the competition.  Children will be excited to know that the “Pet Sheep/Poddy Fleece” class will also see a return in 2023.  With the addition of extra classes, any new sponsors will be welcomed.

So……head down to your shearing shed and see what you have to enter in the 2022 Show.  We look forward to your support.
