Get cooking for the Barraba Show

16th February 2022

Barraba Show cooking section

The Barraba Show is coming up on 4-6th March 2022. The pavilion has had a makeover on the outside and has been dusted off inside. We are looking forward to celebrating our ‘Sunshine’ theme.

A new class to Barraba Show this year is a Persian Love Cake. This has been a popular feature in recent cooking and lifestyle magazines. Our judge looks forward to tasting your version.

The Cooking Section has a class to celebrate the Sunshine Theme – Lemon Tart. The prize money for this section is $30 in memory of Jean Williams.

Don’t forget to start preparing your Rich Fruit Cake by following the recipe in the Barraba Show Schedule. First Place in this class will be taken to the District Area Show where the winner will go through to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.

Another new class for 2022 in the children’s section is the decorated cake with the Northern Inland Credit Union logo. Their logo complements the Pavilion’s Sunshine theme. In addition to supporting our community show, Northern Inland Credit Union have kindly donated prize money of $20 for this class in the school section. Start brushing up on your icing skills kids.

Our trusty favourites are featuring again; Scones, Sponge Cake, Anzac Biscuits and for the juniors; Choc Chip Biscuits and Decorated Patty Cakes plus a whole lot more.

Be sure to take a look at the show schedule and start planning your entries for this year’s Barraba Show. www.barrabashow.com.au

You may like to pick a class and have a ‘cook-off’ with your workplace, sport team, club or mother’s group.

We look forward to seeing you there.
