APPLICATIONS FOR THE VETERAN WELLBEING GRANT PROGRAM TO END SOON

NSW Shadow Minister for Youth Justice, Aileen MacDonald OAM MLC, is putting out a reminder to the veteran community that applications for the Australian Government’s ‘Veteran Wellbeing Grant Program’ are now open. “This is an issue above party politics. Our Veterans have served the nation with distinction and sacrifice, and they deserve all the funding and assistance we can provide through the Wellbeing Program,” Ms MacDonald said today.

The aim of the program is to provide funding for ex-service organisations to undertake projects and activities that sustain or enhance health and social wellbeing, build community capacity, potentially expand on existing projects and raise awareness of the important issues faced by the Veteran community.

“Regional and rural NSW has a significant Veteran community, and this is an important resource to help with their wellbeing,” she said. “We all know that transitioning out of the Defence Force and adjusting to civilian life can be a challenge.” Ms MacDonald said this is the least we can do to help our Veteran community.
