Davidsons Lane to reopen to traffic

Works are nearing completion on the construction of a new elevated crossing at Davidsons Lane, with traffic expected to be able to pass through from the afternoon of Friday 8 September 2023.

The road was closed unexpectedly at the Moore Creek causeway in April after structural damage and deterioration was identified after repeated flooding in the area.

The upgrade has included the construction of a new concrete box culvert and causeway structure for Moore Creek, improvements to the road approaching the causeway including an asphalt surface, signage and guide posts.

The project has been funded through a $725,000 grant under the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program. 

The new structure will dramatically reduce incidents of flooding to the roadway at the site and the resulting inconvenience to road users. Council data indicates about 700 vehicles use Davidsons Lane each day.
