What’s Happening at Barraba Preschool?

This year, we have teamed up with Barraba Library to create a regular excursion for the children of Barraba Preschool to visit and utilise the library. The children walk to the library every fortnight where they engage in a Storytime session with Mrs Rebecca Capel. They then sing songs and dance, after which, the children explore the books and choose some to borrow for the fortnight.

Last fortnight, the children listened to a story call The Hotel for Bugs which had a lovely message about accepting and appreciating everyone’s differences and individuality. The children then worked together to create an interesting seascape and decorated butterflies for the Frost display.

Our local library is a valuable community resource with its inviting learning space and large selection of rich texts. We feel it is important to introduce children at a young age to the library and teach them how to use it. The children look forward to their visit and are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
