Congratulations to our Barraba Netball team on a fantastic day at the Tamworth Zone Knockout. We were successful in all our games today and now progress to the next stage of the competition against South Tamworth. Every player displayed great skill and sportsmanship and we couldn’t be more proud of them. A massive thank you to Mrs Crowley for doing a wonderful job umpiring our games today. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated! Mrs Lowe

Macey Cabot, Paige Phillips, Lara Thomson and Jasmine Coombes did an amazing job at the PSSA North West Netball Trials today. We are so proud of you all! It is such a great achievement to make it this far. A special congratulations to Lara Thomson for being selected to play in the North West team at state level. Well done girls!

U14's Girls Rugby

Round 2 saw our 14’s girls travel to a very muddy Gunnedah Rugby Club for games against Gunnedah and Narrabri. Our 8 representatives were joined by Tamworth resident Barraba girl Bella Hannaford who, with her rugby experience was a welcome addition to our team of rugby novices.

The girls showed considerable improvement from round 1 and this was commented on by the opposing coaches. Notwithstanding being considerably outnumbered and therefore lacking fresh reserves, the girls showed real courage and commitment and should be proud of their efforts. Results on the field were mixed with a win and a loss. The first game was highlighted by Charlotte Gillogly's try, out wide and the second by 2 tries to the barnstorming Gemma White. Mia Coombes, Tillie Halloran and Bella Dipple played well, doing tough stuff in the middle, with Amelia Walker and Andrea Riley contributing out wide. Unfortunately, Hope Dawson was forced from the field with a mild concussion in the first minute and the girls missed her speed on the night.

Thank you to all who assisted including our driver Matt Walker, Manager Mr Melville and student Phoebe Hunter for assisting with coaching. Thank you also to the families and students (including the boy's players) who made the effort to watch the girls play. Next round in 2 weeks will be at home when we will hopefully have enough players to field a team of 10.

3 points to Gemma, 2 to Bella (Hannaford), and 1 to Amelia and Bella Dipple.

See you at training.......

Mr Maloney
