Clancy Lester – The Bee Man Native Bees & Biodiversity

Native Bees, Birds & Biodiversity

17 March @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Learn about Australia’s native bees, pollinators and native plants with The Bee Man, and discover how we can support biodiversity.

Join Tamworth Regional Landcare for a special Landcare Learning event with Clancy Lester – The Bee Man, a passionate environmental educator and native bee specialist.

Clancy will present at the UNE Centre, 24 Fitzroy St, Tamworth, sharing insights from his research into Australia’s native bees and their relationships with flowering plants. His work combines on-ground ecological field studies with modern science communication, making complex ideas accessible and practical.

Through his social enterprise Bees and Blossoms, Clancy works across urban and regional Australia creating native bee habitats, delivering workshops, and advocating for nature-based climate solutions. His research in remote East Arnhem Land focuses on native bee and flowering plant interactions, using techniques such as DNA metabarcoding.

This session will explore:

  • How Australia’s native bees are going
  • The importance of native vegetation for pollinators and wildlife
  • Practical actions individuals and communities can take to support native bees, birds and biodiversity — wherever they live

This event is ideal for Landcare members, community groups, gardeners, educators and anyone interested in native plants, pollinators and healthy ecosystems.

This is a free event but please RSVP for catering and seating purposes. The time is 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start. See you there!!!
