Decision on rates soon

Tamworth Regional Council is one of nine in NSW awaiting the decision from the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) on a Special Rate Variation application. Last month the IPART sought feedback from communities with Councils seeking a variation.

It plans to publish its decision on its website in May.

We are seeking a permanent Special Rate Variation of 36.3% over two years. It comprises a variation of 18.5 per cent from July 1, 2024-25 (including the set rate peg of 4.9%) and 15% in 2025-26 (including the forecast 2.5% rate peg).
