SAXOPHONE QUARTET AT THE PLAYHOUSE HOTEL

Under the auspices of new independent touring organisation Music in the Regions, a remarkable saxophone quartet is currently touring NSW with a special program celebrating 20th Century French music. Known as Nexas Quartet, the group will play works by Claude Debussy and Alfred Desenclos, plus a new piece by celebrated Australian composer Lyle Chan and also George Gershwin's jazz-influenced An American in Paris. The four amazing saxophonists who make up the quartet are Michael Duke (Soprano), Nick Russoniello (Alto), Nathan Henshaw (Tenor) and Jay Byrnes (Baritone). They began playing together 20 years ago as students at the Sydney Conservatorium. Since then they have established themselves as leading exponents of not only existing repertoire for the saxophone but also the champions of new works, especially new Australian music.  Combining personality with outstanding musical virtuosity, the group has become known for creating concerts with wide popular appeal.
Now, they are coming to Barraba. Hear them in the intimate surroundings of the Playhouse Hotel theatre at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 8th November. Concert tickets are $35. If you like you can stay on after the show for a candlelit two course French dinner in the hotel's dining room @ $45 pp.

Book now for the concert and/or the dinner on 6782 1109, or play@playhousehotel.com
