New disabled parking spaces in Tamworth

DISABLED PARKING SPACES IN TAMWORTH

You may have noticed a number of new disabled parking spaces being installed throughout the CBD, particularly within Peel Street.

These works have been funded by the parking reserve which itself is sourced directly from all parking meter and infringement revenue.

The decision to create these spaces came from consultation with the Disability Action Working Group and will help residents and visitors with reduced mobility to access shops and services.

Each disabled parking space is marked with a "shared space" beside the bay, which is designed to help valid Mobility Parking Scheme (MPS) permit holders exit their vehicle more easily.
