Best 3 in the Quest progress to the Final of the 2026 High Country Songbird Vocal Championship held in Glen Innes on Saturday 11^th April 2026 at 1.30pm as part of the Australian High Country Music Festival.

This is a solo artist Vocal Competition, artists who can’t play an instrument may have a solo musician play with them. Competitors are required to perform 3 songs for the judges. No backing tracks allowed.

The Event will be run on an ‘open mic’ format, all artists performing at the Event don’t have to compete in the competition. All artists get a 3 song spot!

1^st Prize; $300, trophy and a budget recording package at Nashgrill Recording Studio Tamworth.

2^nd prize; $200 and trophy

3^rd prize; $100 and trophy

Judges decisions are final.

Artists may be disqualified for;

Performing drunk or under the influence of drugs,

Performing material, the Judges consider not to be suitable for a family show,

Being considered a professional recording artist through record sales,

Participate in acts the Judges deem to be inappropriate,

Showing disrespect for Competition officials, venue staff, other artists, venue patrons, venue equipment and Competition equipment.

The Judges may take disciplinary action against artists and attendees who act inappropriately in connection with this Event as the Judges are representing the Australasian Southerncross Music Association (TASMA).

To answer several inbox queries: The Competition Champion is only stopped from entering the next Songbird Competition after they win. As this Event has cash prizes it is a semi-professional event.
