Traffic change on Gulf Creek Rd

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CHANGE

Gwydir Shire Council has commenced the replacement of a small timber bridge on Gulf Creek Road, approximately 12km from Fossickers Way. This project aims to replace the current timber structure with reinforced concrete box culverts to allow continued heavy vehicle access into the future.

The project is expected to be finalised by Friday 30 June 2023, with the dismantling of the current structure scheduled for Tuesday 9 May 2023.

To accommodate the construction works, a side track has been constructed to facilitate the movement of local traffic. For the duration of works, the side track will be limited to vehicles less than 6 tonnes.

During the works, a heavy vehicle detour will be in place via Woodburn Emello Road and MacIntyre Road.

Council kindly requests all road users adhere to traffic control instructions and signage for public safety during this period.
