Rams win 29-12 against Walcha

The Barraba/Gwydir Rams made the trip for the final round to play Walcha Rams and came home winners after a 29-12 victory. The win put them into the semi-final this weekend against Gunnedah at Inverell. Gunnedah beat Narrabri to enable the Ram/Rats to progress, so good luck boys for the game.

From a few reports the game was a good one with the usual slick hands and backing up, which is what Coach Garry Walsh has been drilling into the team. It has been producing some great running rugby and plenty of backing up by all of the team, a pleasure to watch.

When the ball was fed to the slick backs their pace produced scoring chances and put pressure on the opposition.

At one stage of the match Walcha were putting a lot of pressure on Barraba’s defence line but the stout resistance held firm.

A new player in the backs, a school mate of the captain, stood out on the day amongst a number of top efforts.
