Junior Rugby Carnival a great success

Junior Rugby Carnival

Held on Sunday at the Rugby Ground saw about 20 teams from around the Central North Zone and further, participate in a huge day of football ranging in ages from under 6’s to 12’s. They showcased some outstanding young talent in all teams, which augers well for the future of the code.

One of the stand-out plays of the day was the number of Rams players who did most of the refereeing. They would have enjoyed the experience.

To see the number of vehicles parked nearly up to the Golf Club fence on the western side and three-deep around the oval boundary deserved a photo.

The Junior Committee should be applauded as they run the biggest Junior Day, especially in the north of the state – well done. That is why it is so popular and the weather was great.

One of the features was the ‘under 8’s,’ from Barraba was undefeated all season, so I was told, well done boys.

A full report on the Carnival will be published in next week’s Community News
