New COVID-19 rules lead to event changes

Due to the extension of COVID-19 restrictions across NSW, two shows scheduled for Tamworth’s Capitol Theatre this weekend and next Thursday 1 July, have been postponed. Performance of The Studio’s A Whole New World will now go ahead on 14 and 15 August, 2021.

The other impacted Capitol Theatre event is the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow which was schedule for Thursday 1 July. A new date is being looked at for sometime in the next 2 months.

“All ticket holders for both events will be contacted in the coming days with additional ticketing information and confirmation of the new dates,” Mr Ross said.

Hats Off To Country has been cancelled as venues take the necessary precautions to adhere with the latest public health orders.

The current restrictions are in place until 11.59pm Friday, 9 July, 2021. At this stage there are no other affected performance after this date however please check the Entertainment Venues www.entertainmentvenues.com.au or Council website www.tamworth.nsw.gov.au for updates. Due to the extended COVID-19 public health order, the public gallery will be closed at tomorrow night’s Ordinary Meeting of Tamworth Regional Council. The Tamworth Visitor Information Centre, the National Guitar Museum and the Gallery of Stars Wax Museum will also be closed.

Council is now reviewing all planned events and activities at its venues and community facilities across the region to ensure all measures set down in the current public health orders are in place.
