Think Local, Buy Local
THINK LOCAL, BUY LOCAL
THIS SMALL BUSINESS MONTH
Whether it’s a new shirt, a pair on joggers, or a bite to eat, Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is encouraging locals to think local and buy local this small business month.
Mr Anderson said small business is the backbone of local economies, providing thousands of jobs, and providing essential goods and services to keep the region vibrant.
“Our local retailers, cafés, tradies, pubs, manufacturers, and other small businesses offer world class goods and services right in our backyard,” Mr Anderson said. “I recently attended the Business NSW New England Regional Business Awards and the Tamworth Quality Business Awards which were both a strong reminder of the excellence our local businesses deliver. There is real confidence in our region, but it’s also been a tough period for operators who are feeling the pressure of rising costs and a slow economy.
“Our business community is resilient, but we can also do everything we can to support them, and I’m asking our local community to think local, buy local this small business month. Online shopping may be convenient for some, but nothing matches the service and expert advice of a small business owner and their staff, so shut the laptop, head into town and visit a small business this October.”
An elected NSW Coalition Government will create the most competitive payroll tax regime in Australia but raising the payroll tax threshold, reducing the payroll tax rate, and introduce CPI indexation to payroll tax thresholds.
