We're celebrating 6 years

5th May 2026

This week marks 6 years since ‘Barraba Community News’ started, after the closure of the Barraba Gazette. Other than a 4- or 5-week holiday over Christmas and January each year we haven’t missed a week in those 6 years.

We’re all volunteers who make this happen each week including Terry Threlfall, who researches information and activities from Tamworth to Bingara and proof reads ‘News’ every Tuesday morning. Lesley Grigg who also proof reads on Tuesday. Penny Blomfield, at the Community College, who ensures “News’ is distributed via email to the 400 people on our email list and prints the 250 copies for you to pick up around town. To the businesses who accept the hard copies to ensure it’s easy for you to find a copy. To the advertisers and contributors for the local news items to help you keep up to date with ‘what’s on’ in Barraba and district.

Thank you to everyone who helps in any way. We are always encouraged by the number of people who tell us how much they appreciate our efforts.
