Improving the quality of recycling

We’re not being nosey, just helping our bins do better!

Our bin tagging program with our Waste Contractor Cleanaway is underway!

We know some people may feel unsure seeing someone lift their bin lid but please remember, it’s just a quick visual check to help understand how our community is going with recycling and green waste.

Here’s what the tags mean:

Blue Tag: A+ effort! You’re recycling like a pro

Orange Tag: A few items don’t belong - please check and adjust (your bin is still serviced)

Red Tag: Many items are incorrect - it’s time for a recycling refresh

The goal is simply to give friendly feedback, so everyone has the chance to improve and reduce contamination. Every clean, correctly sorted bin helps keep waste out of landfill and gives recyclable materials a new life.

So, if you spot a tag, please understand it’s just a helpful guide. If you receive a red tag, let the contractor know once the incorrect items have been removed and they will collect your bin.
