TRC new traineeships and apprenticeships

A chance to earn, learn and belong

Tamworth Regional Council have opened their annual apprenticeship and traineeship intake for 2025, creating an opportunity to kickstart a new career locally. The program provides a unique way for people to gain qualifications while earning a wage and receiving on-the-job training across a broad range of Council services and facilities.

Natasha Beer, Manager People & Culture Operations, said the program reflects Council’s focus on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace while growing local talent. “Our apprenticeships and traineeships are designed to provide genuine career pathways while also encouraging people to make a lasting impact on the community they live in”, said Ms Beer. “It’s worth working at Council for many reasons, including our offering of work-life balance, our focus on employee wellbeing and belonging, and our commitment to ensure our team feel supported both professionally and personally”.

This year’s intake features a diverse selection of roles designed to match a variety of interests and career goals. Available traineeships include positions in gallery and museums, visitor experience, sports and recreation, waste operations, survey and design, water and at Council’s AELEC facility. Apprenticeship opportunities include roles in Council’s fitter machinist and mechanics workshops and in transport operations.

Applications are open now and close in August 2025, with closure dates varying between roles. Applicants can apply and find out more at www.tamworth.nsw.gov.au/applynow.
