Competitions for fresh things from your garden

You can still enter flowers, vegetables and fruit growing in your garden in this year’s Show competitions.

ENTRIES for:

Section 15: Farm and Garden Produce – take them to the Luncheon Pavilion at the Showground between 2pm and 4pm on Friday 1 March.

Section 16: Cut Flowers – again, take them to the Luncheon Pavilion at the Showground between 2pm and 4pm on Friday 1 March.

Many vegetable gardens around Barraba this time of year have all sorts of produce; tomatoes, pumpkin, corn, watermelon, zucchini, cucumbers, etc, etc. Before you eat it, pick it and put it in the Show. There are thirty-five different classes listed in the Schedule – it costs only $1.00 to enter a class, and you might win a prize (and the bragging rights). And it all will be on display at the Show on Saturday and Sunday! Enquiries to the Chief Steward Mrs F Coombes 6782 1992.

And it is similar for the flower gardens, particularly after a warm and wet summer like we have just had. There are lots of different classes for Roses and for Dahlias, but there are also classes for lots of other flowers, and for pot plants. And again, it only costs $1.00 to enter; more entries and there is a great display in the Luncheon Pavilion. Enquiries to the Chief Steward Patti Crowley 6782 1795.

All the Section and Class details, enquiry numbers, and the entry forms can be found on line in the Barraba Show Schedule on the website: www.barrabashow.com.au
