Great golf at the opening of the 2022 program

Twenty four players hit off in beautiful autumn weather to open the 2022 Barraba Golf program on Sunday. Playing an individual stableford for Hamilton Trotters trophy Josh Austin proved too strong carding a very good 41 points to finish 4 points ahead of runner up Lyn Simpson on 37 points.

Balls went to Sam Faint 36, Paul Grigg 35, Mike Artis 35, Tom Mellor 33 and Ian Cabot 33 points. NTPs went to Graham Bowman on the 12th and Josh Austin on 18th.

Josh’s tee shot into the 18th provided some entertainment for members on the clubhouse verandah as it ran past the edge of the hole.

Great to see Steve Ward having a hit this week.

Next week we play a 4BBB Stableford for the John and Toni Waugh and Firmen Allan Trophy. The following Sunday April 3rd is an Individual Bisque Par for Ian and Brenda McColls trophy.

In other golfing news last week Walcha held the 83 rd New England Ladies tournament where Stacey Etheridge won the overall two day Division 2 Championship whilst

Amanda Koopman won the Division 1 Scratch on Day 1 and finished overall Division 1 Net Runner Up.

Libby Etheridge won a Division 3 Nearest the Pin on Day 2.
