Kevin Kelaher 2021 Mens Club Champion

A four over par closing round of 75 was enough for Kevin Kelaher to be crowned the Barraba Golf Club 2021 Mens Club Champion on Saturday. Kevin had led after each round of the Championships however Peter York carded a great final round of one over par 72 on Saturday to fall just 3 shots short. Kevin finished on 225 for his 3 best rounds whilst Peter sat at 228.
In the Men’s Club Championship overall net event Liam Johnston sitting 5 shots back at the start of play carded his best ever round to compile a 3 card net total of 209 to win by 4 shots from Firmen Allan.
Saturdays final Championship round was for Ian Cabot’s trophy and the winner was Liam Johnston with a very good net 66 to finish 5 shots ahead of runner up Peter York net 71. Balls went to Kevin Kelaher net 72, Dave Capes net 73 and Campbell Tonkin net 73. Dave McMurtrie claimed an NTP on the 6th.
In singles match play results Kevin Kelaher defeated Daniel Anderson 4 and 3 in the final of the 2021 singles match play to cap off what was a memorable day for Kevin.
Pleasing to see Josh Austin and Chris Oxford playing in the competition on Saturday.
Next week Sunday September 12th is a 4BBB Aggregate Stableford for the Mick Djuric and John Freeman trophy’s and the following week Sunday September 19th is an Individual Stableford for the Vera Doyle Memorial trophy.
