TRC Meeting report - 27th Nov 2025

Here is an overview of outcomes from the Extraordinary Meeting of Tamworth Regional Council held Thursday 27 November 2025:

• Councillors reviewed and discussed the 2024/2025 Annual Report. The report outlines Council’s achievements in implementing the 2023-2025 Delivery Program and statutory requirements under the Local Government Act 1993. The report also includes the audited financial statements and will be available on Council’s website in the coming days.
• Councillors reviewed the first Quarterly Budget Review Statements for the 2025-26 financial year. The report indicated Council needs to take steps to improve the discretionary General Fund Reserves. Whilst this is not considered urgent, Council will be reviewing different scenarios to determine feasible options for future budget plans.
• Councillors have approved the request to contribute $35,000 per year, as part of a three-year agreement, to NSW Country Rugby Union to bring the NSW Senior Country Championships to Tamworth. It is estimated a total of 2660 visitors will attend the three-day carnival which will in turn have an economic benefit of more than $840,000. The financial partnership positions Tamworth as the official host city and brings with it strong destination branding across event naming, signage, media and streaming.
