Chris Sweeney continued his recent run of form to win Daniel Anderson’s trophy on Sunday with a very good plus 5. Runner up on plus 4 was Dave McMurtrie with balls going to Daniel Anderson plus 3, Bevan Benson plus 1, Richard Pudicombe square and Rodger Fisher also square. 

There were no NTPs claimed. In the only matchplay game Peter Artis and Mike Artis just got over Peter “Souffs” Simpson and Keith Akers 1 up at the 18th. 

Next week we have one of the blue ribbon events of our golf program. It is the annual Men’s and Ladies 18 hole Foursomes Championships. The major sponsors of the day are Peter York and Alan Yates along with Kevin Kelaher and Rob Sweeney. The following Sunday 16th July is a stroke event for Kerrie Smiths trophy. 

Some news from today’s Boggabri Ladies 4BBB.

Lib Thompson, Lyn Groth, Amanda Koopman & Di Etheridge had an early start in the frost & fog today to travel to Boggabri for the annual Ladies Open. Both pairs had a pretty good day, one player lost several balls to devious crows however everyone came home with some prizes.

Amanda & Di combined well to take out the overall Scratch event with 28 points. Di also won a NTP and was delighted to make the birdie. Lib and Lyn were picked by a couple of Manilla ladies in the team’s event and ended up winners of the team prize on the day. Both the Barraba teams picked up a ball in the ball comp. A delicious lunch was much appreciated after the round and a sincere thankyou to Boggabri for hosting the day.
