2023 Barraba Show Wool section prepares

BARRABA SHOW 2023 - WOOL SECTION

March 2023 may seem like a long way away but this is a timely reminder to keep some fleeces from your next shearing to enter.

With more producers moving to shorter shearing intervals, we have decided to introduce a “Merino Short Wool” class in 2023.  This class will be open to fleeces with 6-8 months of growth.  If this class receives sufficient support; it is intended to incorporate further short wool classes in future years as producers move away from 12 monthly shearing.

The Chief Steward of the Wool Section, Ian McColl, was very happy with the number of entries last year but is hopeful of even more in 2023.
