Remembrance Day in Barraba
Again, the Barraba community will gather to remember those servicemen and women who served their country in times of crisis.
Prime Minister Billy Hughes said at the time “Australians throughout the ages will treasure forever the memories of those glorious men to whom the Commonwealth owes so much.”
We remember the sacrifice of the 66000 Australians that were killed in WW1 and those that suffered from wounds and other torments as a result of this conflict.
Today, some 108 years on from the end of the “war to end all wars” we remember all those that served to defend the freedoms that we have today.
This year’s Remembrance Day Service will be held at the Railway Memorial Park (opposite O’Meara Park) as this was the place where many of our service men and women had their last view of home.
Our Service will commence at 10.50am
