Barraba Show Young Women

26th January 2022

Barraba Show Young Woman

Judging was held on the 16th January. Congratulations to the 3 very confident young women who entered this year’s competition. The judges found it a VERY difficult task and commend all entrants on their professionalism and support of the Barraba Show and the Barraba community.

The 2022 Barraba Show Young Woman (previously showgirl) is Brook Smith. Runner Up Mia Burgess and 2nd runner up was Eleisha Outridge. They were sashed by our 2019 showgirl Chloe Taylor.

Brook has been in Barraba for 18 months and works at Hart Rural in the merchandise department. Her hobbies are competing in campdraft events, showing her stock horses, netball & swimming. She and her mother have a small sewing business that sells handmade campdraft accessories and work wear for rural women.

Mia is employed at the Barraba NAB & Eleisha is a passionate teacher at St Joseph’s Barraba. Eleisha was judged virtually from Tweed.

Thank you to our judges Chloe Taylor, Kate Kirkness & Patti Crowley and to Bindy Abell & Kelly Brown for their coordination of the competition.

Thank you also to the Golf Club for allowing us to hold the judging there & to Dave Penna and all of our sponsors for your support of this competition. These 3 Young Women will now be guests of the Barraba show on the 4th - 6th March 2022.

Brook will now go onto the Zone 4 judging in Wee Waa on the 19.2.22. Best of luck Brook in this next step of the competition.
