Rugby Union - Ram/Rats out of the grand final

15th September 2022

Rugby Union Report

The Ram/Rats travelled to Narrabri on Saturday to play Pirates in the final to see who would advance to the Grand Final next week and they were narrowly beaten 15-8. Barraba led early in the game after a penalty.

Territory seemed to favour the Rams in a tight game, as those games tend to be, but Pirates were able to score 2 tries to lead at the end of the 1st half. A try to both teams in the 2nd half sealed the result.

The Ram/Rats can be pleased with their season, to have gone so well after the early days looked so shaky. But with Gary Walsh’s help, as coach, the team produced some really good rugby throughout the year.

“Thanks” must go to S. Ward and S. Middlemiss for the strapping and water during the games and also to the bus drivers who took them to games and got them home safely.

The Presentation Night to be held at the Barraba Club on the 7th October, 6.30pm start. Tickets can be bought on https://www.trybooking.com/cckq
