Barraba Rams - season start
Rugby Union News
The Barraba Rams rugby season will commence on Thursday night 3rd February for the first training session.
The well-known Gary Walsh will be there to supervise training and will be approached to act as coach for the year. He has been the Coaching Coordinator for Central North Rugby for a number of years and his knowledge will be valuable to the girls and boys who wish to try their hand at the game.
So, if you are interested in giving Rugby a try you will be most welcome to turn up for the training and the season.
Barraba’s first game will be against Narrabri on the 9th April followed by a bye over Easter.
The Club is waiting on the quotes to come in for the extension of the ladies change rooms and further improvements to the existing building. A government grant is in the pipeline to help with the work to go ahead and notification should be forthcoming in the near future.
The Sponsorship Night will be held on the 10th February, with a guest speaker and the usual top array of food and beverages available for those who attend.
So, all you people who feel like a season of fun and fellowship come along and join, wide-open to girls, boys and men.
A big plus for the players this season will be the decision of the Club to reimburse all grades some finances for traveling and training to help with the individuals’ expenses. This is a first for the Club on this size and scale.
Some years ago, a bus was provided from Tamworth for the players who could not get games with their clubs and proved worthwhile and there is thought this may be attempted again with the opportunity to play 1st Grade.
