The golfing gods smiled on us on Sunday as we played the 3rd round of our Club Championships for Sam Faints trophy. With Covid lockdown rules in place limiting playing groups to two it was not lost on golfers how fortunate they were to be out and about on a beautiful spring like day. The winner of Sams trophy was Club Captain Ian Cabot who carded a good round of 81 off the stick to finish with a net 67 and finish 2 shots ahead of Craig Ruttley on net 69. Balls went to Firmen Allan 70, Des Kelaher 74, Kevin Kelaher 74 and Mike Artis 74.

NTP went to Paul” Down the Middle “ Grigg on the 3rd and Kevin Kelaher on the 18th.

In single match play results Firmen Allen proved too strong for Peter York whilst Kevin Kelaher just got over Will Sedgwick on the 18th.

With the Club championships format now allowing players to take their 2 best scores over the first 3 rounds Kevin Kelaher presently holds a six shot lead over Firmen Allan and Peter York going into the compulsory 4th and final round on September 5th.

In the Men’s Club Championship overall net event Ian Cabot after his great round this week has moved to a 2 shot lead over Firman Allen. Ian sits on 138, Firmen Allan 140, Liam Johnston 143, Kevin Kelaher 146, and Daniel Anderson on 147 all in striking distance.

Next week Sunday 22 nd there is a slight change to our golf program. We will play an Individual Stableford for Rodger Fishers trophy and at this stage defer our 4BBB Stableford to the following weekend to meet Covid playing group rules.
